    What is the Future of Australian Whisky?

    Free to attend for Distillers SA members and Industry Partners. 

    $20pp for non-members. Free drink on arrival and snacks provided.

    A bus departing the city will be available from 4:30pm.

    For our first networking night of 2026, Distillers SA is hosting a lively panel discussion that will unpack what makes Australian whisky unique, whether Australia should adopt category definitions and enforceable standards, and how our whisky can win locally and internationally.

    A big thanks to Bintani for also supporting this event.

    Bintani began in 1995, supplying yeast to a handful of brewers from a backyard shed in Melbourne. Today Bintani is Australia’s premier supplier of brewing and distilling ingredients, and that backyard shed has been replaced by a warehouses across Australia including Port Adelaide.

    Winning at international spirits trade shows and activations

    A masterclass for exporting or ready to export businesses

    Monday 23 March, 9am-5pm


    Turn international trade shows and spirits missions into tangible export wins and achieve success. In this practical full‑day workshop led by an experienced beverage export marketer (Darren Oemcke, Hydra Consulting), you’ll sharpen your value proposition and KPIs, practice pitching and pricing, target and qualify distributors, run WeChat/WhatsApp outreach, prepare assets and pricing packs, manage shared stands, capture leads, and apply in‑market tactics like hand‑selling—so you arrive prepared and leave with a clear path to deals.

    Key learning outcomes

    • Be trade‑show ready, end‑to‑end: 
      • Craft a sharp value proposition and customer personas
      • Choose the right range/MOQs for your market
      • Set clear objectives and KPIs 
      • Pricing materials and brochure preparation
    • Find and win the right partners:
      • Research and preliminarily qualify distributors
      • Understand what makes you attractive to them against competitors
      • Practice pitching that converts interest into meetings
    • Drive results before, during and after the show:
      • Execute pre‑show outreach (WeChat/WhatsApp)
      • Being creative in your presentation
      • Operate effectively on a shared stand
      • Lead capture
      • Apply in‑market techniques to accelerate follow‑ups


      Cost: $200pp ADA and DSA members, $300pp all non-members

      Tickets are available at a significantly subsidised price thanks to Austrade's Export Market Development Program. Ticket includes access to all templates, resources and materials, morning tea and lunch per person. 


      Distillers SA is working closely with the Department of State Development and Austrade to grow SA spirits exports internationally in the next 3 years to 2027. Distilleries who attend this masterclass will gain priority access to apply for opportunities for further training, mentoring and to attend SA spirits trade missions in international priority markets.

      How To Take Your Spirits Global

      A masterclass for emerging spirits exporters

      Monday 11 May, 9am-5pm

      There are increasing opportunities in international markets for Australian spirits, but the pathway to export requires careful planning and identification of the best market and distribution channels for your product.

      This spirits export masterclass is a practical workshop which will help you draft an export plan and budget to make export profitable for your business. It is suitable for distilleries getting ready to export within the next 2 years (those new and returning to market) and for team members responsible for growing export sales.

      Receive practical spirits specific tools, information and resources about;

      • Current market trends and opportunities for SA spirits internationally

      • Understanding the models to export spirits

      • Drafting a 2-3 year Export Plan

        • Why and how are you exporting?

        • Setting a budget for export

        • Planned market entry and promotional activities

      • Identifying if a market is right for you

        • Channel and distribution structures for spirits (how they differ from market to market)

        • How to research spirits consumer trends and import requirements in international markets (using AI, digital tools and resources to your advantage) 

        • Tariffs, product labelling summaries, duties etc

        • Freight and trade routes to market

        • Pricing your product

      • Entering a market

        • Preparing a pitch

        • Securing a distributor

        • In-market activities (pre and post securing a distributor

        Cost: $250pp (1 attendee)
